Austin Pride: When It Is, the Parade Route and Other Pride Events

Austin Pride happens in August, not June. The 2026 festival and parade were on Saturday, August 22: a daytime festival at Fiesta Gardens in East Austin, then a parade down Congress Avenue at 8 PM. The 2027 date isn’t out yet. The organizers post it on austinpride.org first.

June still has plenty going on, including Queerbomb, the volunteer-run “anti-corporate” Pride, and Round Rock’s festival.

Austin Pride Festival

The Austin Pride Foundation runs the festival and parade. It says it was “formed in 2010” and is “100% volunteer-run.” The 2026 festival ran at Fiesta Gardens, the city park on Jesse E. Segovia Street in East Austin. The organizer listed the day as 11 AM to 10 PM, parade included. The city’s events page listed the festival itself as 11 AM to 5 PM.

What the organizer posts about getting in:

  • ID: show it at the gate. Without one, or under 21, you get an “Underage” wristband
  • Bags: clear bags only, up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a small clutch or fanny pack. Medical and diaper bags are allowed after a check. No backpacks or coolers
  • Food and water: no outside food or drinks, including sealed water bottles. Bring an empty reusable bottle. There are free water stations
  • Pets: allowed on a leash
  • Weather: rain or shine
  • Cameras: the FAQ says going in means agreeing that you may be photographed or recorded for Pride’s promotion. If you aren’t out everywhere, plan for that

The 2025 festival was free. The 2026 page had a “Fest Tickets” button, and we couldn’t confirm the 2026 price. Volunteers get in free, per the organizer’s volunteer page.

Austin Pride Parade

The parade “begins promptly at 8:00 PM at the Texas State Capitol,” then runs south down Congress Avenue for about 1.3 to 1.5 miles and ends at the Congress Avenue Bridge. It’s a night parade, and watching it is free.

The organizer’s 2025 FAQ put the end at the Congress Bridge and Cesar Chavez.

Getting to Fiesta Gardens

Parking is the hard part. The organizer says “Public parking is limited!” and asks people to bike, walk, carpool or take the bus.

  • Bike or scooter: parking outside the West Gate, and the Lady Bird Lake hike-and-bike trail runs nearby
  • Car: two lots north on Jesse E. Segovia and one east of the grounds. The organizer asks you to park west of the venue and stay off residential streets
  • Accessible parking: in front of the main entrance, first come, first served, with a state placard or plate. The city takes accommodation requests at least four days before an event
  • Fines: the city fines $250 for parking on the grass during park events

Queerbomb

Queerbomb is Austin’s grassroots Pride. KXAN describes it as “an ‘anti-corporate’ pride event run by an all-volunteer organizing team.” In 2026 it was June 7 at Inn Cahoots, 1221 East 6th Street, starting at 2 PM with a resource fair and talent showcase.

Its old website no longer loads, so follow its social pages for the 2027 date.

Round Rock Pride Festival

Round Rock Pride held its fifth festival on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2 to 7 PM at Centennial Plaza, 301 West Bagdad Avenue. It promised live entertainment, food, vendors and community booths, with “No tickets needed!” Downtown Round Rock has four free parking garages within a 7-minute walk, the organizer says.

Other June Pride Events

KXAN’s June 2026 roundup listed a Travis County Pride flag raising, a Pride edition of the Big Ole Queer Market at the Palmer Events Center, a Pride party from the Little Gay Shop at Distribution Hall, and a Pride picnic at Pease Park. Most of these come back each year, so check in late May.

Drag is part of Pride all year here. Our drag shows guide lists the regular shows and brunches. To show your Pride online, our how-to for a Facebook Pride profile frame takes a few minutes.

Before You Go

  • Bring your ID, a clear bag and an empty water bottle. It’s August in Texas
  • Plan the ride home. The parade ends downtown after dark, away from the festival grounds and their parking
  • Mind the cameras. Pride’s FAQ says attendees may be photographed or recorded
  • Check access early. Ask the organizer about seating and accessible restrooms, and send city accommodation requests at least four days ahead

What We Couldn’t Check

  • The 2027 dates for Austin Pride, Queerbomb and Round Rock Pride. None were posted on October 14, 2026
  • Whether the 2026 Austin Pride festival charged admission
  • Austin Black Pride. Its old website now goes to an unrelated site, so we left it out until we can find its current page
  • Pride events in San Marcos, Pflugerville and Georgetown. We haven’t checked them yet

Last checked: October 2026. Read from Austin Pride’s own pages, the City of Austin’s event page, Round Rock Pride’s site and KXAN (June 2, 2026) on October 14, 2026. We didn’t attend for this guide. Dates change every year, so check the organizer before you plan around one.
